The island - Entertainment opportunities
The island
Vir Island lies only at a distance of 25 km from Vir, the capital of Dalmatia
and at a distance of 400 km from the Hungarian border (at Barcs).
The length of the island is 10,5 km, its width is 4,5 km, and
it is connected to the land by a bridge that can be used free
of charge. The name of the island comes from a former local
Dalmatian word: ueru which means grazing field.
Vir Island is a newly discovered pearl of Croatia the investment
opportunity of which suggests a wonderful future. The geographical
position of the island is ideal because it is situated in the middle
of the Croatian seaside and by that the temperature of both the
air and the sea is excellent. The biology of the Adriatic Sea around
the island is really variable: there is sea urchin, sea cucumber,
crabs, various types of fish and plants.

The locality Vir can be found on the island. Its sandy
seashores with small pebbles lure a lot of people here to
have a rest. On the northern side of the island there is a
calm bay and on its southern side it is surrounded by the
open sea. On its northern part there is a wild life protection
area, which provides opportunities for walks and diving.
There are not large hotels, the tourists hire apartment houses (link to the page
of apartment houses for rent), houses with garden and private
pension houses. There are a medical surgery, pharmacy, vegetable,
fruit and fish market, restaurants, cafés and various shops
in the village.
You can access into one of the national
parks nearby
if you drive an hour.
Entertainment opportunities
Our guests can hire jet-ski, motor boats and ships. We can organise trips depending
on the individual needs and you can have the opportunity to
dive.
There is a large number of restaurants on the island and places of entertainment
for all age groups. Cocktail bars and discos insure the good
evening atmosphere for the young and restaurants for the elderly.
One of the most famous disco paradise of Croatia is Zrce,
which is called Little Ibiza all over Europe. It can be accessed
both on land and by ship.
